Nebraska - demo

If you don't like 1980s synth-pop, you may well dislike Nebraska's demo. I am a great fan of much 80s pop, and was therefore won over by Nebraska's 3-track demo CD which does a good job of dragging the 1980s kicking and screaming into the 21st century. They make intergalactic space-pop which combines indie guitars, New Romantic vocals and synthy soundscapes to create an aural assault of windswept, melancholy sound. Their music embodies an aching sadness, buts gets away with this without being depressing simply by dint of sounding so damn lovely and by seeming to carry the promise of salvation in the spaces between the notes. 'Tis soft, epic, wistful and lovely stuff, and all those factors work for me.
