Embrace - Fireworks: The Singles 97-02
The main thing that this collection of singles underlines is how much potential Embrace really had in their day/still have now. Early Oasis style songs such as All You Good Good People and Come Back To What You Know are gloriously great, and the later song 'Wonder' shows just how good they are, but the abysmal cover of '3 Is A Magic Number' is just laughable, and halfway through i couldn't help but become slightly bored and irritated by Mr McNamara's dreary voice. Overall, i think it was just about worth the five quid i paid for it, but i don't know if it holds it's own to warrant the paying of much more than that. The potential has always been there, but i sadly feel Embrace have never really been able to live up to it.
